2 Iranian star actresses to appear in ‘Autumn Sonata’

Iranian director Jalal Tehrani is set to direct a play with two Iranian star actresses.

Iranian director Jalal Tehrani is set to stage ‘Autumn Sonata’ play featuring two famous Iranian actresses.

The play originally written by Swedish director, writer, and producer Ingmar Bergman will employ Golab Adineh as well as Bahareh Rahnama.

Currently in the works, the theatrical performance centers on the two Iranian actresses who play the roles of a mother and her daughter. However, a male character will step in as well.

‘Autumn Sonata’ will be brought to the stage during the upcoming months at Iranshahr Theater in the Iranian capital city of Iran.

This comes as Tehrani staged ‘ A season for Hunting Kites’ at Tehran City Theatre last year.  

Golab Adineh holds a degree in Political Economics from Iran's Shahid Beheshti University. She began theater acting in 1975 as a student in a troupe formed by Mehdi Hashemi and Dariush Farhang.

It was her performance in the drama 'Sultan and the Sheppard' (1981) which shot her to fame. She has also tried her hand at directing.

The appearance of Iranian actress in 'The Girl With the Blue Scarf' (1994) took a Crystal Simorgh for Best Actress in a Supporting Role from the Fajr International Film Festival.

Meanhwile, Rahnama played roles in various movies, such as ‘Tambourine’ (2007), ‘St. Petersburg’ (2009), ‘No Men Allowed’ (2010), ‘Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus’ (2010), Laughter in the Rain (2011) and ‘Sensitive Level’ (2013).

She has also appeared in series, including ‘The Story of a City’ (2000), ‘I'm a Tenant’ (2003), ‘The Man of a Thousand Faces’ (2007) and ‘Goodbye Child’ (2012).
